ICE Accountability Project Statement on Joint State-City Lawsuit Challenging Federal Immigration Enforcement Tactics

Encourages Residents to Share Their First-Hand Accounts at ReportICEnow.com

The ICE Accountability Project issued the following statement in response to a joint lawsuit filed by the State of Illinois and the City of Chicago challenging unlawful and retaliatory immigration enforcement actions by federal agents.

“This lawsuit is an important step toward stopping future abuses, and justice must also be served for the people who’ve already experienced harm. Everyday residents have been on the ground and have first-hand accounts of what they saw and experienced. We’re encouraging people to share those accounts at ReportICEnow.com so they’re documented and made part of the public record. No federal agent is above the law.”
